Secretly finding a ring size
Ring sizing is tricky, especially if the piece you’re getting made or buying is a surprise. If you’re off by even half a size, you’ll need to get it resized.
Tips n’ tricks
1. The engagement and wedding rings go on the “ring” finger of the left hand. The left and right hands are not identical, and one hand will typically be half-size smaller than the other depending on hand dominance.
2. If they're a regular at Andronyk Studio, we keep a log of client’s ring sizes just for occasions like this! Sleuth level: Easy
3. If your partner already has a ring that fits their ring finger on their left hand, send it on over and a measurement can be taken that way. Sleuth level: Medium
Your best bet is to get the most accurate measurement possible, ring sizing is not guesswork. Being sneaky about it is commendable, but if off by multiple sizes, sometimes the ring cannot be resized because of the design. You can always just ASK your partner what their ring size is, or book a video appointment here to guide you through the process. It’s still a surprise to get a ring, even though your partner knows they're getting one!
